
Jordan School District Professional Development Classes:
6-Trait Writing Model: Learn how to use this model as a means for writing instruction, a tool for student revision, a devise for curriculum alignment and an instrument for school, district or state measurement.
Comprehension Framework for Content-area Teachers: This course focuses on the application of the district’s Comprehension Framework which features eight strategies to use before, during and after reading various non-fiction texts. It is co-taught by the Secondary Literacy Specialist and Social Studies, Math and Science Specialists. This course is designed to help teachers understand the implications of the Scholastic Reading Inventory for teachers outside language arts and for teachers new to content area literacy.
