MY Access! Quick and Easy Helps

Don't have time to explore this online writing program like you want to? Can't quite remember what you learned? Then here is a step-by-step guide to resources that will get you started or re-started!

Before continuing, however, YOU NEED TO OPEN ANOTHER WINDOW ON YOUR COMPUTER and LOG INTO YOUR MY ACCESS! teacher account TO MAKE THE LINKS AVAILABLE. As you proceed through these resources, you'll will click specific hyper-links that lead you to lessons in the "How-to Video Library" or other easy-to-follow MY Access sources.

These and more can be found in the Resource and Training Center located in the upper right side of the MA homescreen. Hopefully, this page will better support you and your students in using this tool!

Essentials for getting started:

  • First, you need to know how to create and manage a group, set up the group's name and purpose. Click HERE to learn how to do that.

  • Second, you want to set up an assignment for your students. Click HERE to walk through the 6 steps of setting up an assignment using the "Assignment Wizard."

  • Third, you know how to set up an assignment now, but you want to find the best prompt to assign the students in the grade level and content area you teach. You will want to click HERE.

  • Fourth, you need to know what students see when they log into MY Acess. Click HERE for a quick exploration of the student version.

  • Fifth, you want to incorporate good writing instruction before sending students to the writing lab.   • Sixth, you want to look for your students' writing, then go HERE for help in navigating student portfolios.
